What Does Unrestricted/Restricted Mean?

Packets are classified as either "Unrestricted" (those with lower calories, fats and carbs) or "Restricted" (those with higher calories, fats and carbs). Only ONE of your daily packets may be classified as restricted. The other two must be unrestricted.

What Are Packets?

Any single portion/serving of a specially manufactured packaged protein food is referred to as a "packet", even those foods that come in cartons, wrappers, jugs, bottles, etc. You will eat three packets each day (typically breakfast, lunch and snack).

NOTE: Packets must be from highly absorbable protein sources such as whey, soy or milk isolates/casein (meaning only the protein from the source is used), pea protein, other plant proteins. A packet CANNOT use a majority ingredient such as dairy, nuts or meat as the protein source. These are not highly absorbable forms of protein. (They can be a small part of the ingredients but not a majority ingredient.)

What are the Three Phases of the IPA Protocol?

The three phases of the IPA Protocol are designed to help you set, achieve and maintain your weight loss goals. During the Weight Loss Phase of the Protocol, limiting carbohydrate intake to encourage the body to turn to its fat stores for energy.
